Very few people are aware of the contribution of ‘Umar Ansari’ to Indian Cinema….
‘Sheesha’ released in 1952 was produced by Umar Ansari who was also the lyricist of this movie….This was the only movie for which he penned songs….The other lyricists of Sheesha were Shakeel Badayuni and Majrooh Sultanpuri…
Umar Ansari penned 2 songs for this movie….Composed by Ghulam Mohammed Saheb….A melody cannot be better than this….Lata’s sweet and melodious voice takes this song to a different level…A decade where whatever she sang, turned out a platinum…Enjoy this rare gem….
Nicely penned by Umar Ansari….Each line reaches the heart as soon as we listen…
‘Bahut Hi Khoobsurat Hai Teri Duniya Mere Malik
,
Magar Mujhko Teri Duniya Se Nafrat Hoti Jaati Hai’…

Is this the same ‘Umar Ansari’ who was the famous Urdu poet & writer of ‘Ghazals’ Mohammed Umar Ansari’ ( 23 September , 1912 – ’18 November , 2005 ) ? 🤔 Please do tell me . If yes , then I must say he could have been a successful lyricist in Bollywood too . His song from this film sung by Mohammed Rafi sahab & composed by Ghulam Mohammed sahab : “Teri Mehfil Mein Dil Thaame Tera…” is a very favourite song of mine . 🙂
