who is the First female music director of hindi cinema ?

16 Sep

Neither Jaddan Bai nor Saraswati Devi were the first female composers of Bollywood…  It was Ishrat Sultana aka Bibbo. It was Ishrat Sultana who composed the music for Adl-e-Jehangir (1934). She is often forgotten because no gramophone records were released for that film. Pehla Pyar (1947). Pehla Pyar was her last film in India before she migrated to Pakistan and resumed her career there.
